His words ripped her from thought. She stared at him a moment, then realized what he had asked. "oh, sorry." She smiled apologetically. "I have a few plans, I don't want to divulge into too much, but I will tell you this. If you will be worshiped as a God, then it may be only natural that I'm considered a goddess by several people. Not that it's my choice, but because of the fact that it's only natural in nature." She walked over to the two kangarats who now lay motionless, she wwrapped them in gauze and walked toward the door. "I"ll only be a moment. You can wait here." Vermillion grabbed a small garden shovel and headed outside. Minutes later, she returned, dusting dirt off of her skirt and a new mound under the rose bed. "So, here's what I'm wondering. Do we keep this between us, or do we gather a few more live ones to work for us?" she asked as she poured herself some more tea. "we could always turn them later if we need to replace them."

Lord Deco grinned down at her. "Do you not think that we can handle such a task on our own?" he said. "Who could be better suited for the task? Your amazing knowledge coupled with my sheer divine power are more than enough than enough to accomplish our ends." He laughed lightly to himself. "Besides, little one, who could possibly be trusted with our plans?" He felt no need to involve any peons in thier schemes. He knew he would only end up having to kill them anyway... well, maybe not have too. Lord Deco needed something to occupy his time, after all. One way or another, he felt that more people being involved with the plan only truly meant more people in his way. "Surely you are not wavering in confidence now?" he said with a sneer. "Fear not butterfly. This world shall crumble beneath our feet."

"Well, it's not so much the fact that i don't think we can handle it. I know we can." She looked at him and thought. "You ever went to school and was bullied by the stupid big kid, who was controlled by the tiny kid, but no one ever knew, because they never said anything. If anything were to ever get discovered, we would have a cover-up. But if you think we're fine, I'll take your word for it." Vermillion stared at the sun, it was beginning to set, and she didn't realize how late it was. The azure slipped in with the rose and made an Indian sky of golden red. The sun was beginning to dip low into the sky. "Twilight; it's always been my favorite time of day," she said, slipping back into her once interrupted thoughts. "I remember....I was watching a bond fire, and the people around it were talking and dancing. I was Naive then, I didn't know that people were really that hurtful." she shuddered. She wiped her eye and then turned to Deco, a smile on her face. "Let's plan what we'll do from here on out. Maybe do some desicion on what to use, and then meet tomorrow and test a specimen

Lord Deco's eyes remained fixed on Vermillion. He was unsure of what to make of her sudden bouts of remenicence. Finally he said "Kangarats would accomplish our goals just as well as any other. We only need them for the first stages of our plans anyway so it doesn't truly matter." He glanced out the window at where the original specimens where now buried. "We should, however, begin putting our efforts towards discovering how this process will effect... larger specimens." He said, grinning once again. "I shall gather all of the test subjects that you will ever need, little one. Now, if you will excuse me, I take my leave. It has been quite some time since I last fed." Lord Deco made as if to step towards the door but suddenly stopped. Slowly he turned back to the girl. "One more thing." He said, his voice even. "Though I recall nothing of any school, I understand the metaphor. You wish to have someone to take the blame in case our plans are discovered. Your manipulation runs deep, Vermillion." His eyes narrowed dangerously. "Be very sure that it is focused towards a worthwhile goal." With this his humanoid vysage melted into a pool of dark eco and quietly slid under the door frame, leaving the girl to ponder what he had said.

Vermillion listened to what he said, but ot only hit her ears and made her grimmace slightly. She heard him leave and then turned to where he once stood. "Goal. Everything is a goal with people like that, people like you. It's a wonder." Vermillion shook her head and then returned to the sunset. The silence in the house was not comforting like it had once been. No, in fact, the silence pressed on her slightly, made her sad. Fact was, Vermillion didn't like this little place. Though nice, she still found herself lonely. Right now though she was more frustrated. The next day she spent out on the prowl for kangarats, catching several which should have been enough to do the testing with. "speaking of testing...." Vermillion looked around. Her house was out in the middle of nowhere in a forest. If any specimen that Deco brought were to get out, they would have a problem on their hands. She looked at what she had, and then head to the basement. The basement was clean and had a few things, but there was only one way in or out, and that could be blocked. There were hooks for jackets and you could fasten rope and chain tomake those into rstraints, and she had chain, left there by the previous owner. This would do, and so Vermillion turned to head back upstairs, to eat and to wait for Deco. But he did not show. As Vermillion waited, she began to think about the things that he had said to her. About her manipulation running deep, and a worthwhile goal. What did he mean. She wasn't manipulative, she was just very careful. One had to learn to work with what one had. After all, she didn't have power like him, she felt it was what you could do with power, not how much you had; as far as Deco, well, she could use his power and have some leftover if things worked out. As for the goal...she chuckled. "Treated as a God. Who does he think he is?" she asked, looking at the kangarats, sniffing around in their new tank home. "Oh, if only he knew my goal. I"ll let you little guys in on a secret." she said. She stopped a moment to take a bite of her sandwich, a peanut butter and jelly, then continued. "I don't want to complete destroy the world, That would be a waste. I think all we need to do is one city. You know. because if you kill off the one major power, which should be Haven city, then the rest of the world comes crumbling at your feet." she nodded. "yup, just like dominoes. Only risk we have is the other places taking up arms, and even then, we'll have most of Haven zombies right? and to think, you buggers are going to be the start of all this destruction and chaos. Oh, I'm excited about this experiment. Very much so." Vermillion spent the rest of the evening talking to the kangarats and taking care of odds and ends, her anger towards Deco taking a rain check until she actually saw him next. "That f*k*rs gonna have to pay the consequence for being late."

Lord Deco was crouched atop a cliff that overlooked a large valley when the sun began to set. He knew that Vermillion would be very... displeased with his tardiness but, in all honesty, he couldn't care less. He would arrive when he very well pleased, not one second sooner. Besides, he had things that needed doing. His eyes suddenly narrowed as he saw the beginnings of a small camp fire down in the valley. He had been following this group of bandits for most of the day now. There seemed to be three of them in all, an easy take down. He had decided to wait and make his move at night, not because of any tactical advantage it might have given him, but because the dark often amplified the fear of his victims and made toying with them that much more fun. He grinned sadistically as he began to sink into the ground. The three men sat around the campfire which they had just kindled, laughing drunkenly. The sun was now no more than a memory of the day past and the fire was thier only source of light. One of the men suddenly raised the large mug he had been drinking from "Rape, pillage, and plunder!" he slurred, his comrades raising thier own mugs and repeating this phrase in a loud, obnoxious toast of sorts. After the apparent leader had downed the last of his mug he began to speak once more. "Man, that was great today when we... what the hell?" He had just taken notice of the tall, dark figure standing at the very outskirts of the light produced by their pathetic little fire. He slowly rose to his feet and motioned for his men to do the same. "Who do you think you are, boy?!" He said in a loud angry tone. "My name holds no importance to one as weak as yourself." Lord Deco said, his grin spreading even wider. The bandit leader's face turned an interesting shade of red. "That's the last stupid thing you'll ever say!" he screamed. With that all three men pulled submachine guns from holters at their hips and opened fire. Lord Deco simply laughed and strode forward. Bullets tore through by the hundreds but could do nothing to damage his eco body. A dark tendril suddenly lanced forward from behind his back and pierced the nearest bandit through the heart. Deco quickly lifted the man unceremoniously by the hole in his chest and tossed him aside into the darkness. The other lesser bandit's jaw dropped in horror. "It's a demon!" he screamed and took off running, carelessly tossing his weapon aside. He had nearly made it ten feet when his legs were suddenly disentegrated out from under him by a massive blast of dark energy. His upper body fell, convulsing to the ground. Lord Deco now stood directly in front of the bandit leader who, to his credit, continued his constant barrage of gunfire. Another Tendril lashed forward and ripped the gun from the fools hand, taking a few fingers along with it. Them man screamed and tried to back away but only sucseeded in tripping over the stool he had been sitting on only moments ago. Deco now stood over him menacingly, the fire light causing shades of purple and black to dance across his features. Countless tendrils sprouted from back and arched around until their jagged tips faced the helpless man on the ground. Lord Deco laughed as dark energy lanced about his form. ...The man's cries of suffering could be heard for miles around.

Vermillion was obviously not in the best of moods. Her toe tapped impatiently and her arms were crossed. She stared at the bodies that had been left at her door that morning. One was dead and oozing. Two were sitting there in chunky near death. "Freaking jerk. what's he trying to do, get us to pull up a f*king cemetary?" She heard a moan from one of the men. A large and gruff looking man, he looked as though he had been given the run-around. She sighed and walked over, grabbing his chin and looking his face over. The man stared at her, his eyes sore and one looked as though it was going to pop out. He looked back, eyes sad and given in. They suddenly grew as though in surprise and then asked, "Did I.. make.. to Heaven...I'm too bad..Em..l..y.." He passed out again, his words a ramble to her. she didn't want to touch them, but she knew she would have to pick them up. The other was legless, but it seemed as though it had been carterized. "Genius Deco, you want to make him bleed to death, and be a handicapped zombie...great."She couldn't help but chuckle as she thought about what she just said. The legless one looked up his arms bound and his face in tears. He looked about to die, pale and the blood loss was having a toll. "Kill me..please...you are-" but Vermillion turned away from his begging adn went to look at the other dead one. A simple clean one, nothing to bad, just a hole straight through the heart. Vermillion had a feeling this was someone Deco had no concern over at the time and just left him for dead. Which, he was. "At least one clean one." she muttered to herself. "Please, if you have any mercy, kill me please." The legless man begged. Vermillion glared at him. "You will die when I say you die. As long as I feel like it, you are going to stay alive, and just for that..."she stared at him and looked at hims, he was dirty and so were the others. She smiled, a terrible idea in her mind. "You get to carry your friends here down to the basement." "But, but how can I do that?" he asked as he felt what bound him slip from his hands. "That's your problem." she said and walked off to the garden to enjoy the morning breeze with her breakfast. ~~~ now two were dead; he had managed to drag them to the stairs and then she had kicked him downstairs, he fell and she heard a snap on his neck, knowing he would be dead soon, she stared at him. "Die knowing that you will be going on to do great things, and that your body will be the unknown vessel to a new future that will soon prevail." She turned to the dead one and kicked him down the stares as well, determining to take care of them later. She turned to the live man and then smiled. "you will be useful, we'll make you the live specimen, how's about that?" She smiled and chuckled. "Sounds good then." She grabbed his body and drug him into the spare room, thinking of the story to convince him he's in purgatory.

The air within the small room suddenly began to grow heavy. Dark bolts of energy flashed here and there as the form of Lord Deco rose, seemingly out of nowhere. "So," His deep voice full of amusement. "What do you think of my gift? I promised you specimens, so here they are. A little worse for ware I suppose but it matters not." He let out a short, harsh laugh. His eyes glistened with an unrestrained evil that very few could even begin to comprehend. "I wish you could have been there, little one. Thier screams, thier pain, their FEAR... it was absolutely delicious!" He turned to look at his partner, the immence size difference forcing his line of sight into a drastic downward angle. "Are you not happy to see me?" The maniacle grin never leaving his face. "Surely you are not still upset over my slight lack of punctuality?" He was overcome with yet another fit of laughter. "Well, speak butterfly."

She only ignored him when he came in, looking at the specimen that was in full health by this point. IT had taken a long while to do this, and in the meanwhile she had gone and placed the dead into places in the basement, the clean dead had been put to the chair and the legless one had been tied and hooked to a coat rack. when he spoke, she spoke with a voice that was not meant to be carried by a child, much less anything kind. "Two days. Two days I spent healing him; three days I spent wondering where in the nine Hells you were..."her voice was a calm low, like a wind, "Do you realize, that in that time, not only could we have this tested, but be ready and moving out by now? Even then, the specimen yuo bring me. Only one really was great, and that was the dead one that you shot clean through the heart. I"m guessing that you would like to see the speed of a legless zombie perchance? and the one you left alive..." she stared at him, her eyes a dark dull grey, "maybe I should have done this myself? OR maybe you just lack common sense to think that we need healthy creatures? Sure, we need dead ones, but I'd rather we kill them here."

Deco's eyes narrowed dangerously and the air grew even heavier still. "First off, you unappreciative little WRETCH!" he roared, the bolts of energy lancing from his body burned long, dark gouges into the walls. "You are in absolutely no position to mock me! I have killed many for far less incolence than you have shown!" He took a few menacing steps forward. "I care nothing for your petty bouts of childish impatience! If it weren't for me you wouldn't even have the specimens that you do now! But... " He began, raising his hand as he spoke. "If you insist on their inperfection as test subjects..." He suddenly lashed out with a dark wave of energy. It struck the man whom Vermillion put so much time into healing head on, reducing him to a pile of smoldering bones before anyone had time to react. He slowly turned back to the girl. "I am not some lapdog that beckons to your every desire! I decide what I do, when I do it, and how it gets done."
