Vermillion didn't waver. "I am sure you've heard me request that the word childish abstain from conversation." She then smiled, and only stepped closer to him. "You really think you are going to scare me?" A step further. "you forget my friend..." She was up to his chest at this point. "I'm much older than you, I have been around much longer than you. I'm also much more well aware of my limits. I know you limits too." She turned to what was ashes and then at Deco. "I find t funny, the one who calls me childish is having a tantrum." She examined him. "You really wish to be an all-powerful God, then you will be willing to take this advice: Control your temper before anything else. If you are guided by that emotion to the extent you waste it as such, you will never achieve the goal you set out for, you-" She stopped in mid sentence. She had heard something so she thought, a change in sound...or something... She stared at him...was it her...or did something seem...different?

The space around Lord Deco began to hum with energy. He glared down at the small girl, his eyes glowing in testament to his rage. Dark energy started to swirl around his body like some sort of demonic tornado. "So, you feel that you know MY limits?" He said coldly as the twister began to pick up strength. "Then you know that they are well beyond your own. You think that you know power... YOU KNOW NOTHING!!!" The mealstrom of darkness suddenly burst outward, filling the room and obliterating everything that it came into contact with. The walls stood valiantly for a few moments before succumbing to the torrents of destruction and crumbling to dust. The roof above them was, likewise, torn away from the house and shredded by the waves of energy. "Your incolence has angered me for the last time! Perhaps you will not be so foolish in your next life. NOW DIE!" Countless tendrils suddenly lashed forward with murderous intent. They screamed through the air directly towards Vermillions face and chest... but they stopped. There jagged points hovered a mere centimeter from piercing the girls delicate flesh. Deco stood motionless as the whirlwind of destruction began to diminish, internal conflict etched across his features. Slowly, the tendrils retracted back into his body. He turned away from the girl. "If you follow me, I WILL kill you." He said, his voice hollow and distracted. With that he stepped over the remains of what used to be a wall and walked away from the broken house. As he walked, he slowly sank into the ground until nothing could be seen of him.

Th sound of his yelling filled Vermillion's ears. She only kept herself quiet and stayed where she stood. She winced slightly at the sound her house ripping away and as she aw saw the tendrils slipping towards her, she wondered if maybe she really might die. But the look on his face, as though straining. Something stopped him, and everything stopped. As he disappeared with the words that were left Vermillion found herself looking at where he had sunk away. "I didn't think you'd run away." she whispered. The sentence traveled far. The noise from the chaos Deco had been causing nw made verything so...so...uncomforting to speak in. She looked down and only the basement had been left undone. she sighed. "well...I'll figure something out." THe sun was high in the sky, and her stomach grumbled, of course, she had no funds. everything hadjust been obliterated. She just ignored it, dug through the rubble and sowly started to repair. Her mind wandered as she worked, full of thoughts on the past and full of questions on now. 'Why?...why did I ask hm for his help?....I could have done it on my own..but...I guess...I just don't think it would be as satisfying on my own....well either way...I don't know.' Vermillion was a little out of it, needless to say, but she knew that she had to keep going and work. If she didn't, she would just get frustrated and upset. Keep the mind going. So she worked nonstop, deep into the night and into the next day, slowly growing wearier.

Lord Deco's screams of rage cut through the air like a knife. Why? WHy had he stopped? It's not like it would have been difficult to kill her. He could have ripped her apart with no more effort than peeling a banana. Yet she remained alive. Another bestial roar ripped from his throat as bolts of energy lashed out, seeking to obliterate anything that dared to come to close. A memory... yes, something she had said must have triggered a memory within him. That is what had truly set him off to begin with. She had said that he was throwing a tantrum... where had he heard that before? "Am I to halt my research simply because an underling decides to throw a tantrum!?" Then the memory had gone, vanished as quickly as it had appeared. Little did Vermillion know that it was the sudden intrusion of this very memory that had saver her life. So, here he was, venting his fury to the world. Deco slowly began to regain his composure and looked around at his surroundings. He could not understand what, but something had drawn him to this place. He could only surmise that it must have something to do with the flash of memory he had experienced. Lord Deco found himself in a clearing in the forest, dominated by a what appeared to be an abandoned laboratory of sorts. Did he know this place? "How dare you question my methods, you insubordinate whelp!?" "You simply can not comprehend the significance of the experimentation!" Deco shook his head, attempting to dislodge this new onslaught of unknown memories. Yes, he remembered now. This place was the first that he could remember. He had awoken here years ago and ripped it apart for the sheer fun of it. But... what were these voices. He slid in through the ruined doors of the building and examined it's interior. Tables and broken monitors filled the room, shattered vials of some long forgotten chemicals laid here and there across the ground. There were also what appeared to be prison cells of some sort, complete with chains and restraints. A magnificent thought suddenly blossomed in Lord Deco's mind. It was obvious that a new base of operations would be nessicary if he and Vermillions plans were to continue. Any residual anger he felt towards the girl had been washed away by the morbid curiosity of his new discovery. This place would serve there purpose well. He soudlessly exited the building and started off towards where he know he would find Vermillion. They had work to do.

Vermillion sat on the ground, having done exactly what she didn't want to do. She may have been old, but that didn't keep her from acting like a child. "Errgh! Why do I always have to deal with this mess!" She exclaimed. The kangarats that had been put to work by doing little things turned at this outburst. "Everytime something goes wrong I have to fix it. He makes a mess and stomps off, and i have to clean the mess up." she stood up and looked at the progress so far. The kangarats, two dead men and herself had maybe managed to salvage 1/3rd of the things that had been hit, but the fact that he had destroyed her home, the place that she had made a sanctuary, safe from peering eyes and mean spirited people. Then the sound came from the wind, and came into her ears as though the middle of a statement was coming through in a crowd's chatter and stopped her thoughts dead. Everything beautiful must die.. Vermillion shuddered. She knew she was tired, she knew she was hungry...but she knew that was real. She looked around, hugging herslef close and feelng terribly nervous. Yet, there were only her workers, kangarats hopping about and cleaning, clearing, anything that was salvaged was being placed in the baement, and the two dead bodies had been turned and put to use as well. Vermillion felt a little better, her mind telling itself she felt tired and was hearing things. A tap on the shoulder and a grunt turned her around and she saw the legless man. He held something out as a comforting gesture and there was her stuffed pirranda ( IN:a panda+pirannah for those wondering..). "Vatti Baren...." she smiled and hugged the stuffed creature close forgetting every worry she had. Vermillion had been angry and upset and paranoid, but all that slipped away. Now she was being comforted bythe one thing that had always comforted her.

"How cute." came the dry voice as a familiar dark figure began to rise up from ground behind Vermillion. "I never would have thought a mind as twisted and sadistic as yours would have such a soft spot." Lord Deco laughed as he moved around her in a litteraly fluid motion. He reached down and grasped the legless man by the wrist and hoisted him up in order to inspectthe girls handiwork. "I see that the experiments were not a complete failure." he finally said before he casually tossed the zombie over his shoulder and into a pile of broken wood and mortar. He looked around now, as if just now noticing the destruction that he himself had caused only the day before. "What a mess. It seems as though our little project will have to be moved to a more suitable location." he said conversationally. "Now that we have discovered that the process is effective on humans, I suggest that we begin moving our plans into thier more advanced stages." There seemed to be no traces of the anger that had litteraly torn the house apart the previous day, only a driven determination that shone like fire behind his eyes. "Fortunatley for us, I have located a place that fits our needs perfectly." He absently turned over a large rafter with one dark tendril. "What do you say to this, little one?"

His showing up surprised her. His speak of continuing even surprised her. But at the moment Vermillion was so tired and hungry she didn't really care. The ssound of a crunch as body hit wood aroused her enses and she could tell her sharpness had numbed over the days that he had been gone. She hid a yawn into the stuffed creature and then looked at him. "I thought that you didn't care about this. Thought you were gonna be-"she hid another yawn"-gonna be a God or something...." she looked at the messs. She didn't really want to leave it, but at the same time, she knew that in order for things to work, she would have to. Vermillion stared at Deco and let out a chuckle "Forget it, let's go." She tuned to go, and collapsed.

He looked down at the unconcious form of Vermillion and shook his head. Sleep, what a petty human weakness. He slowly extended forth a tentacle and plucked the stuffed animal from where it had fallen when the girl collapsed. He looked at it intently for a few moments, wondering what purpose it could possibly serve. "Happy birthday Susan." Deco's shape suddenly wavered. He only barely managed to catch himself before he collapsed into a puddle. What was happening to him? Slowly but surely he regained the mental hold that held his molecules in place. His eyes began to spark and glow in irritation. This simply would not do. He would get to the source of whatever was causing this disturbance and dispose of the problem. Until then, there was much to be done. He looked down again and realized that he had dropped the little pirranda. He reached out and picked the doll up, hesitated, and placed it so that it leaned against a motionless Vermillion's arm. He then turned to face the setting sun, arms crossed, and waited for the girl to awaken.

Waking up in a cold sweat was a bad thing for Vermillion. She was breathing hard and had been yelling n her sleep, but even now the dreams were fading from her as she tried to reach to remember them. They were terribly imporant she knew that much, but now...only flashes.. She lookd up to Deco and saw they were still in the same place. "I....hm...hello.' She was unable to think of words really. She was still so stuck on her sleep. Flashes like pictures were there. Fire..people.....a spewing of chemicals at one point....but the song...that is what bothered her most she realized. She knew that song and she understood that it was there, but why? It was so old, so burried, why did it come up now? She stood up and dusted herself off not knowing that she was humming the very tune that was chasing her, then grabbed her stuffed Piranda and started walking a bit. She turned to face the one who had sat by her. "Are we going? Or are you sleeping now too?"

Lord Deco chose to ignore her comment as he coverered the distance between them in two easy strides. "Well, now that you are finished waisting our time, shall we go?" He said in a dry tone as he continued past her, leading the way into the forest. Nearly two hours later, the omninous shape of the long-abandoned laboratory loomed before them. He reached forward a clawed hand and effortlessly ripped off one of the large steel doors that served as an entrance so that Vermillion might enter. He hadn't expected her to squeeze her small frame through the inch wide crack that he had used previously. Once inside, he waved his hand in an exspansive gesture. "So, what do you think? I feel that this place will serve our purposes quite well." Energy danced fleetingly over his body in gruesome anticipation. "Oh, I nearly forgot." He said as he moved over towards one of the many prison-like cells that covered the walls. "I've brought us another specimen." A grin slowly spread across his face. "I believe that you will like this one." With that a loud, metallic slam rang throughout the room as a large metal-head suddenly lashed out from inside of the cell. The force of the assault left deep gashes along the heavy doors interior, but otherwise did nothing towards earning the creatures freedom. Amusement sparked in Deco's eyes as he turned to face Vermillion. "Well, little one?"
